HSAM IT Career Talk
The Challenge // The Problem
High school students entering the IT track face a rapidly shifting technological landscape, requiring a roadmap that balances foundational skills with the emerging reality of AI-augmented development.
The Solution // Technical Implementation
The Strategy
Delivered to the Senior High School IT Track students of Holy Spirit Academy of Malolos, this career talk provides a visceral look at the “Modern IT Perimeter.” The strategy was to move beyond textbook definitions of IT and instead focus on the Operational Intelligence required to thrive in a post-AI world. By sharing real-world “War Stories” from two decades of development, the talk helps students build a mental model of the industry that prioritizes adaptability, ethical reasoning, and the “Truthiness Check” as core technical competencies.
Core Workshop Topics
- The Modern IT Perimeter: What it actually means to be a developer, designer, or architect in 2023 and beyond.
- AI as a Co-Pilot: Preparing for a career where AI-assisted orchestration is the default, not the exception.
- The “Truthiness” Mindset: Why critical thinking and verification are now as important as syntax and logic.
- Skill Scaffolding: How to build a robust technical foundation while staying adaptable to emerging frameworks.
- Operational Ethics: Navigating the responsibility of building systems that impact real human lives.
- Roadmap to Readiness: Practical advice for students transitioning from academic theory to professional execution.
