The Strategy

Delivered in August 2024, this full-day intensive was designed to move educators from passive observation to active AI Literacy. The strategy focuses on “Practical Pedagogy”—providing teachers with a hands-on roadmap for using AI tools to reduce administrative load while enhancing student engagement. We dive deep into the ethics of the classroom, exploring how to maintain academic integrity and foster critical thinking in an age where the “First Draft” is often generated by a machine.

Core Workshop Topics

  • AI 101: Foundations, history, and understanding the mechanics of Large Language Models.
  • AI in Everyday Tools: Identifying AI where it already lives—from search engines to productivity suites.
  • AI Ethics: Navigating bias, academic integrity, and the human-in-the-loop model.
  • AI Security: Practical protocols for data privacy and safe model interaction in schools.
  • AI for Education: Mapping the landscape of purpose-built tools for K-12 learning.
  • Integrating AI into Teaching: Redesigning pedagogy and lesson plans for an AI-augmented classroom.
  • Interactive AI Demonstrations: Hands-on live sessions exploring generative capabilities.
  • Generative AI: Deep-dive into image, text, and multimodal content creation.
